Performance Pathways - Finding health and facilitating healing.
An Equine session will include both:

Cranial-Sacral Therapy and Equine Osteopathy Assessment.
For your horses first session usually plan on 1.5 - 2 hours

Osteopathy:

To understand the science of osteopathy is to understand that everything is connected. Therefore, if any part of the body is affected by an imbalance then another part of the body will have an effect as well. The body wants to heal itself and strives to stay in balance at all times. When an influence occurs resulting in the body being out of balance, the body starts to compensate in an attempt to maintain it's normal function.  The osteopath believes the influences that impact the body are not as important as the body's response to them.
The fundamental belief of osteopathy is everything moves or needs to move.  The osteopath looks for movement in two ways, first at the joints. Each joint has specific movements, the smallest movement or lack of, can have enormous impact on the entire body. Second is the total body, how do all the parts move together. After performing the evaluation, a clear picture is revealed.
The practice of Osteopathy was founded by Dr. Andrew Still (1828-1917). His perception of the body and illness was to look at the entire body in a three dimensional way. He believed the key was to understand the motion of the body down to a cellular level, the way in which everything is connected and how it impacts vital functions of the organs
Equine Osteopathy was first founded by Dominique Giniaux, a French veterinarian. He is credited with being the first to apply human osteopathy to horses. Not long after this time, osteopaths Pascal Evrard  and Janek Vluggen also started applying the human osteopathy to horses.

Cranial-Sacral Therapy:

What is the Cranial-Sacral System?
The Cranial-Sacral System is a system within the body that is responsible for the production, circulation and re-absorption of Cerebral Spinal Fluid (CSF). It is a functioning system working in conjunction with all the other system within your body such as, the respiratory system or the cardiac system.
What is Cranial-Sacral Therapy?
Cranial-Sacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle non-invasive therapy that modifies and corrects restrictions of flow in the cranial-sacral system. The goal is to enhance the body's self correction-regulating mechanism without triggering the body’s defense system. The Cranial-Sacral System is evaluated using a 10 step protocol. The practitioner utilizes a light touch to avoid triggering the brains alarm system called the Reticulating Activating System (RAS). By not activating this alarm system, the body is free to reveal areas that are off balance.

History of Cranial-Sacral Therapy
The presence of subtle rhythms in the human body was discovered by osteopath Dr William Sutherland over 100 years ago. He proved that sutures in the skull move and the connection between the cranium (head) and the sacrum (pelvic area) share an important rhythm.

Cranial-Sacral Therapy takes a whole body approach to healing.
It is an effective form of therapy that can help with a wide range of conditions. By creating an optimal environment for health, encouraging vitality, and facilitating a sense of balance. Cranial-Sacral Therapy can be effective in both acute and chronic cases. The body strives and wants to stay in balance at all times.

"Worms will not eat living wood where the vital sap is flowing; rust will not hinder the opening of a gate when the hinges are used each day. Movement gives health and life. Stagnation brings disease and death." - Chinese proverb
